Lembang, West Java

Lembang is a region that is located in the district west of Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Be at the altitude between 1.312 to 2.084 above sea level, this makes Lembang have a very fresh air with a temperature between 17 - 27 celcius degrees.

Lembang has long been known as one of the center rabbit farm in Indonesia. If you are visiting Lembang, you will be very easy to find the rabbits along the road. According to latest data that I read, the overall number of rabbits population in Lembang is around 120,000. This may happen because there are many large breeders who live in Lembang. They have an average hundreds up to thousands of rabbits on their farm. There are many different rabbits that they breed, such as the Flemish Giant, Hotot, English Spots, Local Rabbit, Angora, Holland Lop, Lionhead, and others. Lembang also supply most of the demand of rabbit in Indonesia.

So if you like rabbit and are visited in Indonesia or have any intention to visit Indonesia, do not forget to visit Lembang.

Batu, East Java

Batu is a cool area that is located between the hills. Among all the rabbit farm in East Java, Batu has the largest population. According to latest data, a population of rabbits in Batu is about 25 thousand, and most are in the Cangar area.

There are hundreds of rabbit breeder in Batu, from a small breeder that only has a few rabbits to breeders who have hundreds of rabbits, and they are usually joined in groups of breeders. Most rabbits that they are breeding is a cross breed between local rabbit with Flemish Giant or New Zealand White. This rabbit is intentionally developed to meet the needs of meat. But there were also a few breeders who breeding pure breed rabbit for fancy. They breeding English Angora, Dutch, Lop, Rex, Flemish Giant, New Zealand White, Lionhead, and others.

So if you like rabbit and are visited in Indonesia or have any intention to visit Indonesia, do not forget to visit Batu. I will be happy to accompany you to enjoy the natural beauty of Batu and to see a rabbit farm in here. I am also a rabbit breeder, and named my farm Tabos Rabbit Farm.

Rabbit Farming Areas in Indonesia

Indonesia is an archipelago with a very wide area, which consists of around 14 thousand islands. Among the thousands of islands, there are several areas that are suitable for rabbits farming. All that areas usually have similar characteristics, are at an altitude above 500 m dpl and has a temperature between 15 to 20 degrees celcius, with the air humidity between 60% to 90%.

These areas are West Java (Lembang, Pengalengan, Cipanas), Central Java (Sarangan, Brebes, Magelang, Bandungan, Purbalingga, Magelang), East Java (Trenggalek, Blitar, Magetan, Batu), Bali, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. These areas are also known as vegetable plantation and an excellent tourism object in Indonesia.

So if you are rabbit lovers and are visited or will visit Indonesia, do not forget to visit these areas.
